Cancer victim's fund vow

A young Wolves fan diagnosed with testicular cancer on the day he got his A-Levels result has had to miss a year of university while he recovers.

But James Corfield, aged 18, of Prestwood Drive, Stourton, is going to spend that time raising money and awareness about testicular cancer.

He met Wolves players during a training session at the end of last week.T

he former Haybridge High School, Hagley, pupil, a season ticket holder at Molineux, was due to start a business course at Worcester University on September 15 but was due to have chemotherapy at Russell's Hall Hospital in Dudley.

He has had to defer his enrolment for a year and has pledged to run the London Marathon on April 26 next year in aid of the Mary Stevens Hospice.

On Friday he met Wolves players at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground in Compton. Striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake said: "James is a very brave and I fully support his aim of raising awareness of this."
