1 Tony Godden

The goalkeeper, who is now 53 years old, played on until 1989 and is still involved in football as the full-time goalkeeping coach at BlueSquare Premier outfit Rushden and Diamonds.

2 Jimmy Nicholl

The opposite of Valentine, 51-year-old Nicholl was born in Canada but settled in Britain and is now assistant manager to Jimmy Calderwood at Aberdeen.

3 Barry Cowdrill

The 51-year-old former full-back played on for Rochdale until 1991 and is now thought to be living in Bournemouth and working in the leisure industry.

4 Steve Hunt

The last Albion player to represent England is proving elusive. In 2005 he was living on the Isle of Wight and coaching at Bembridge FC but recent attempts by the Albion, Villa and Coventry old boys' associations to track him down have failed.

5 Martyn Bennett

Now aged 47, the centre-back retired in 1989 and worked for a breakdown recovery firm but is now believed to have moved to Spain.

6 Ally Robertson

The likable Scot has just turned 56 and works at a BMW showroom on Birmingham Road, Warley. He retains strong links with Albion.

7 Gary Owen

The 50-year-old former Baggies winger is now living in Manchester and is a regular on Piccadily Radio, commenting on his first club, Manchester City.

8 Garry Thompson

Having played on until the age of 37 and tried his hand at management with Bristol Rovers, the 48-year-old now lives in the West Country and works for a sports agency.

9 Gary Robson

Bryan's little brother played on for Bradford until 1995 and is now back home in Chester-le-Street running a haulage business.

10 Tony Grealish

The bearded midfielder turns 52 on the day of Sunday's derby and has now retired to Spain, having ended his playing career at Walsall in 1991.

11 Carl Valentine

Born in Manchester but a naturalised Canadian, he returned to Canada soon after leaving Albion in 1986. Now aged 50, he is a senior coach at the TSS Academy, which coaches talented youngsters in Vancouver.

12 Nicky Cross (substitute)

Still living in the Midlands and last heard of working for an insurance company, the former striker is now 47.
