The Scotlands' Dean Harrison returns to the ring on September 12 for his first title – a tilt at an international masters belt against Polish fighter Arek Malek.

Two weeks later, Stourbridge's Rob Norton meets Londoner Mickey Steeds for the British cruiserweight title over 12 rounds.

Promoter Paul 'PJ' Rowson sees the Civic Hall as the best around.

He said: "We say London was, Manchester is and the Midlands will be. The Civic is the new home of boxing."

Harrison faces a tough test against Malek, who has faced some top quality opposition in Harrison's First Team stablemate Young Mutley and former British light-welterweight champion Barry Morrison.

The 25-year-old returns after being forced to take a break, to allow cuts to heal from his bruising battle against Gary Reid in April.

The bricklayer will be ready as his camp look to get him ready for a British title chance, later in the year or early in 2009.

Trainer Errol Johnson said: "Dean needed the rest after fighting so much in his career already. He will probably still over-train, but that's the nature of the kid – you can't get him out of the gym."

Joining Harrison will be two debutants – Wolverhampton light-welterweight Chris Lewis and Chris Male from Cradley, a super-featherweight.

Lewis – who is the 50th professional boxer in the First Team stable – is stepping up from the amateur ranks after winning 30 out of 40 unpaid bouts which saw him reach the final of the Midlands ABAs.

Male has an even more impressive record, having been crowned national ABA junior champion.

Also on the bill are Tipton middleweight Joe Skeldon, Steve Saville, Russell Colley and Lyndsey Scragg from Wolverhampton and Telford's Keiron Gray.

Tickets are £30 and £50 ringside. Contact the box office on 0870 320 7000 or promoter Paul 'PJ' Rowson on 07976 283157.
