The West Bromwich-based former British welterweight champion will be fighting Latvian number two Sergejs Savrinovics over eight rounds at the Civic on July 24.

It will be the first time he has fought at the venue since losing the European EBU light-welterweight title fight against Colin Lynes on July 20 last year.

The bout will be Mutley's third comeback fight since the Lynes defeat after beating Vladimir Borovski last November then Kevin Placide in March.

Mutley is hoping to gain another shot at the British welterweight title he lost so narrowly to Kevin Anderson two years ago.

But he may fight for a European or world title fight at some stage.

Coseley big ticket-seller Jamie Ball will be aiming to continue where he left off against Pontefract veteran Peter Dunn after a winning start at the same venue earlier this month.

Hagley lightweight Scott Evans will be hoping to add to his four-fight unbeaten pro record, while Halesowen's Kevin McAuley faces Tamworth's Matt Seawright in his second fight after a losing debut.

Light-middleweight Joe Skeldon, the son of Tipton-based former British heavyweight contender Roy, is also on a bill of eight planned fights.

Brierley Hill's Martin Gordon is up against Chris Thompson (Leeds).

Birmingham heavyweight Neil Perkins and Telford's Keiron Gray are also in action.

Wolverhampton light-welterweight Dean Harrison has been ordered not to box until September by his plastic surgeon after treatment to his eyes following his bruising win over Gary Reid in April.

At the weekend, Stourport light-welterweight Billy Smith was beaten by Liam Anthony on points over six rounds at Aylestone leisure centre in Leicester.

First Team's busy schedule continues with Darlaston's Stuart Elwell up against Ted Bami in Liverpool over eight rounds on Friday night, while Walsall light welterweight Martin Gethin will be involved in a six-rounder in Wigan on July 11.

Purse bids have gone out for an English title fight between Gethin and John Foulkes in September.
