Axed defender backs the boss
Departing Wolves defender Rob Edwards has delivered the perfect goodbye to boss Mick McCarthy by declaring: "He will take you to the Premier League".

Edwards is one of six players made available for transfer by the club with Freddy Eastwood, Darren Ward, Darren Potter, Stephen Elliott and Jay Bothroyd, while captain Gary Breen has been released.
But 25-year-old Edwards has no hard feelings and is convinced under-fire McCarthy is the man to take the club back to the top flight.
"Mick is the right man to take Wolves to the Premier League, 100 per cent," said the Welsh international, who has a year on his contract.
"Who can you name who will do a better job? He has experience at all level, from promotion to international.
"If someone said I could spend the next 10 years at Wolves I would have taken it. The gaffer is the right man for the job and I'm sure Wolves will be right up there next season.
"I've really enjoyed the last two years. I've learned more and I haven't got a bad word to say about anyone. Wherever I go, I can take on board what I've learned.
"With Mick, it's his mentality. When he first came to the club, he emphasised massively how important it was to work hard.
"But he also told us how much he wanted us to play football and really play a passing game, the way it should be played.
"The way he wants us to play is brilliant and I'm sure next season when he gets the people he wants they will have a fantastic season.
"We were 11 points behind West Brom but you can easily name four games where we've lost and been unlucky not to win."
The Telford-born former Villa defender, who made 100 League appearances in four years at Molineux, was one of the more surprising names made available.
But Edwards has no problems about McCarthy's decision to sell him.
"I've had a fair crack of the whip," he said. "I've had a few injuries which haven't helped, but I can't blame that on not playing.
"I've played a few games and personally think I could have done better. But I gave everything and the gaffer knows that."
