Robinson shrugged off ankle injury last season, but was ultimately left in despair by the Wembley play-off final defeat.

And the 29-year-old left back has been playing with a badly bruised ankle for the last fortnight while needing stitches to head wounds in two of Albion's last three games. But he refuses to give in with the prize of a Premiership place now so close.

"I just had the one stitch against Watford and three against Norwich," he said. "The gaffer's calling me 'Mr Bump', as is my son, because I've always got a bandage around my head.

"Maybe I shouldn't have carried on on Saturday because I had a bit of blurred vision in my right eye. But I just wanted to get the job done.

"The gaffer did the right thing by taking me off and when you face players like Darren Huckerby, you've got to be fully focused. Unfortunately, in the second half I wasn't able to do that. My ankle is still sore and I'm playing on with that."
