Harrison fight postponed
Wolverhampton's hot prospect Dean Harrison has been forced into a change of plan after his next fight was postponed.
Wolverhampton's hot prospect Dean Harrison has been forced into a change of plan after his next fight was postponed.
The light-welterweight from The Scotlands was due to fight on the undercard of the Carl Froch-Denis Inkin bill at Nottingham Arena on March 29.
But the whole show has been put back to May because Inkin is suffering from an acute infection.
Promoters Hennessy Sports are looking to re-schedule for May 3 or 10, but that's too close to April 30, when Harrison tops the bill at Wolverhampton Civic Hall for the first time.
"I'm gutted," said Harrison. "But at least I'm still topping the bill in my hometown."
Telford's Mark Lloyd, who was due to fight Nottingham's Adnan Amar for the English light-weterweight title on the Froch bill, also faces a change of plan.
Universum Box-Promotions have confirmed Inkin will be fit to fight by the end of April.
Mark Sharman, director of ITV News and Sport, said: "We looked at the option of a replacement opponent but in the end this fight is so big it's worth waiting for."
The Froch-Inkin fight will be broadcast live on ITV1.
