Italian World Cup winning manager Marcello Lippi has turned down the opportunity to manage Birmingham City.
The 58-year-old, who has never coached outside Italy, was wanted by Blues to replace Wigan bound Steve Bruce.
Blues co-owner David Sullivan said: "This is not a stunt, it's genuine."
Blirmingham have also been turned down by former Spurs boss Martin Jol but Sullivan said the board was working hard to find the right replacement.
Football fans, what do you think? Who is the most optimistic target you have ever wanted to sign? Are Blues showing ambition or exposing themselves to ridicule?
