Thomas Sorensen makes his first Villa appearance of the season tonight when he plays for the reserves at Portsmouth.
The Danish international is joined by Curtis Davies and Stephen O'Halloran in Kevin MacDonald's line-up.
Sorensen has been relegated to third choice behind Scott Carson and Stuart Taylor since returning from a knee injury.
The 31-year-old has vowed to fight for his place and said recently: "I've said all along to everyone at Villa I'm here to fight for my place.
"I'm well aware of the situation. Scott has done well, but I have to work hard and wait for my chance. That's been the bottom-line.
"From my point of view, the most important thing is playing first-team football, that's no secret.
"But I'm not looking to leave the club to do that. That's never been my intention."
Villa reserves: Sorensen, Lund, O'Halloran, D Bellon, Lowry, Davies, Y Bellon, Hogg, Mikaelsson, Earls, Stieber. Subs: Albrighton, Bevan, Delfouneso, Collins, Clark.
