"We're still looking for five or six new faces," said Robinson."It's not been ideal having so many trialists and we haven't been able to do too much work on team pattern and team shape because of the different faces that have been coming in.
"That's just the way it's worked out this summer - it's been hard work for all of us.
"Hopefully over the next 10 days we'll start to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
"We're in negotiation with a number of players and we're hoping to clinch some of those deals before the season starts.
"But as we've found so far things can change very quickly and you can miss out on players."
Robinson admits it's so far been a frustrating summer in his bid to strengthen the Marston Road squad after Rangers survived relegation on the final day of last season.
"It's been a difficult pre-season because we lost a lot of players during the summer and it's been difficult finishing deals off,"
added Robinson.
"A lot of players have come and enjoyed training with us and wanted to stay, but actually completing deals has been difficult for us this summer and we've missed out on quite a few players.
"There's still quite a lot of business that we need to do before the start of the season but we're hoping to do that in the next couple of weeks before the season starts.
"We may still be looking to recruit when the season starts as well."
