Super Bob insists Albion's fans can give their team the edge during the double derby crunch with Wolves.

Taylor witnessed at first hand the impact the Baggies supporters had on their team when they last won promotion though the play-offs 14 years ago. More than 40,000 Albion fans roared their team to victory over Port Vale at Wembley.

But it was the atmosphere they generated semi-final victory over Swansea at The Hawthorns – a game which Albion played part of with nine men after Micky Mellon was sent-off and Paul Raven suffered a head injury that required stitches – that stuck in his mind.

"My best memory is of that second leg against Swansea," said Taylor.

"We got beaten 2-1 down there – and were lucky to come away with a 2-1 result.

"But that second leg at The Hawthorns was probably the best game I ever played in. The electricity the crowd generated was phenomenal.

"You had to be in the ground to sample it. The fans really were the 12th man that day and they made it such an electrifying atmosphere.

"I'm sure the Albion fans will create a special atmosphere again on Sunday and particularly next Wednesday.

"I hope they boing-boing all night. That Swansea game was where 'boinging' really came from.

"They must have done it for 20 minutes non-stop and it was brilliant.

"Albion has always been known for their boing-boing and if they create that atmosphere again their the fans all behind them it will be superb."

Taylor believes the Hawthorns supporters will be able to help Albion turn the tie around, even if they return from Molineux trailing.

"I don't believe you can win the tie in the first game," he said.

"I think even a 1-0 or 2-1 deficit for Albion at Molineux would be a great result because I'm sure they'd be looking to score at least a couple of goals at home in the second leg."
