Black Country companies attend export masterclass
A UKTI Masterclass on how to 'Grow Your Exports Through Your Website & e-Commerce,' has been held by The Black Country Chamber International Trade team.
The event happened on Friday 5th June at the National Metalforming Centre in West Bromwich.
It was a great way to increase knowledge about how to improve websites to appeal to an international audience, provide an insight into the role that e-marketplaces can play in increasing international sales and how to raise the awareness of the technical and legal implications of selling over the internet.
The event had a range of speakers including Christine Hamilton, Deputy Regional Director of UKTI; Sam McMurran, Digital Advisor at UKTI; Nick Lewis, M2M (UK) Ltd; Stephen Wyer, George Green LLP; Thomas Mobee, CCW LLP and Kirien Sangha, Creative Industries LLP.
Over 20 companies attended the Masterclass including Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP, AIM Internet Ltd, Cox & Plant Ltd and many more.
Jess Jeetly, Co-founder, Managing Director, Jeetly, commented on the event: "We are a new petite womenswear brand designing clothing for women 5'3 and under.
"We offer a unique opportunity for customers to collaboratively design each collection and to determine which products are manufactured in our range.
"We do this via our website, which is our main market place as well as selling through e-marketplaces.
"Our products are now sold to customers in 16 countries. We are keen to build our customer base outside of the UK and are using the services offered by UKTI.
"Our meeting with UKTI's Digital Advisor, Sam McMurran was focused and to the point. He gave us valuable digital marketing advice and a competitor analysis report.
"He also challenged us to really think about our target customers and market positioning."
