Williams has joined forces with The Black Country Ukulele Band to create the catchy tune, which has been uploaded to SoundCloud.

The song celebrates everything about the Stourbridge Shuttle.

Now a video could also be filmed to accompany the quirky song and get it some airplay on local radio.

Alan Love, from the band, explained how the idea for Gerron Board (the Stourbridge Shuttle) came about.

"They knew each other from a long time ago. John put the idea to him about if he would like to do something with us.

"Pete has been our mentor for years after he ran an ukulele course at night school, so he has always supported us.

Mr Love later approached Williams with the idea of the band singing a tune he had written.

"That's how it came about," he added. "We went to Fred Skidmore's studios in Stourbridge and it all went from there.

"We recorded it over two days and put it together and it was really exciting.

"When we first heard the song we loved it. The lyrics were wonderful.

"It has a real Black Country heart to it.

"The shuttle is brilliant. It's a wonderful concept and to be able to promote it in this way is great."

The lyrics about the shuttle keep the Black Country vibe alive, with lines such as 'you've bin up Brum, or further afield a long way from home. You see that little tram there is plenty of space you don't have to cram you can be who you am. So gerron board the Stourbridge Shuttle'.

And 'seven days a week every 10 minutes or so just take your pick, when its icy, sleet and rain or under the sun never complain not this little train'.

Mr Parry, from Parry People Movers Limited, added: "It's a lovely song that works incredibly well about our little shuttle."
