IN PICTURES: Porsche 911 smash leaves BMW stuck in hedge

The drivers of a BMW and a Porsche 911 were 'more than lucky' to escape serious injury in a smash which left one in a hedge and the other with substantial front end damage.

The crash at the junction of the A449 and Doctors Lane in Kingswinford happened at about 2.50pm yesterday.

Murray MacGregor, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "On arrival, crews found a BMW in a hedge surrounded by brambles. A Porsche 911 was in the middle of the southbound carriageway with front driver's side damage.

"Thankfully, both men had managed to get out of their respective cars.

"The 29-year-old BMW driver was shaken but otherwise unhurt. The 35-year-old Porsche driver had a burn to his right forearm but said he didn't want to go to hospital to have it assessed further.

"Thankfully, the inherent strength of modern cars and the wearing of seatbelts has ensured both men have escaped with almost no injury."
