The reality television star has released new album Revelation on a wave of publicity as his public fall-out with Katie Price continues.

But it was obvious hundreds of female fans in the West Midlands are firmly on the side of the Australian-born singer with some queuing for up to 10 hours before he finally appeared 55 minutes later than advertised last night, to be greeted by screams from the crowd.

Student Georgina Poulton, aged 19, from Tamworth, was first in the queue having settled down outside the doors at 8am yesterday morning.

"I'm a big fan and he was really nice," he said. "He just said 'thanks for coming.' I was really nervous and he looked even better in real life."

Friends Demi Hailes and Louise Warren, both 16, travelled up from Gloucester wearing hand-made tribute T-shirts. Demi said: "He loved the T-shirts, he said we were his number one fans. It was definitely worth the wait."

Solihull College student Jamal Greaves, 16, from Kings Heath, was one of the few male fans near the front of the queue and waited more than five hours to meet him.

"I'm a big fan as he is just so different and it is good that he moved on with his life," he said. "He said that he was going to follow me on Twitter."

Student Ashley Newman, 16, from Cape Hill in Smethwick, said: "I just said to him 'I love you' and he said 'I love you too'."

Lichfield teenagers Leanne Matthews and Katey Allsopp, both 16, joined the queue and wrote a special message for Peter on their faces with eyeliner.

Former Nether Stowe school pupil Leanne said: "He's really fit and it's really nice as we watch his programme."

One of Peter's distant relatives Andreas Kattou from Rugby, a current Mr England, had also made the trip to Birmingham after setting up a private meeting with the star, his mother's second cousin.

"I've known I'm related to him for about 14 years so I've always been aware of what he is doing," he said. "Hopefully I'll get some advice from him as well."
