gallery1.jpgWhen an articulated truck over-turned, blocking three lanes of the M5 motorway for more than five hours, hundreds of Midlands motorists were caught in tailbacks up to three miles long. Fortunately, the driver escaped unharmed, though his cargo wasn't so lucky - cardboard boxes were left strewn across the carriageway after the lorry hit the central reservation, and diesel fuel was also leaking from the truck.nextpage

gallery2.jpgWolverhampton strongman Stu Goldcrusher became a human mule for youngsters and their parents in Willenhall last weekend, using a specially-designed yoke to give them a lift at the seaside-themed Blackpool Comes to Willenhall event. Goldcrusher also gave Ant and Dec a ride on the yoke in the Grand Finale of Britain's Got Talent, although the strong act failed to impress judge Simon Cowell.nextpage

Old fashioned Black Country acts, musicians and a funfair are all part of the entertainment planned for the event, although hopefully the fashion statement on display here will be optional for visitors.nextpage

gallery4.jpgFor Audrey Taylor, never-ending summer rain was the least of her problems when a nearby underground water pipe burst, collapsing the road and sending water 30ft into the air. Ashmore Lake Way in Willenhall suddenly became a river as gallons of water cascaded down it, flooding nearby homes and gardens along the way.nextpage

Broad Street, WolverhamptonAlmost £2 million has been spent on revamping a gateway to Wolverhampton once dubbed the scummiest road in the country - but businesses say it's no better. Dee Duong, the manager at Nails 4 U nail bar on Broad Street, said today: "It still looks the same. They did work on the roads but it still looks very tatty."
