One of Wolverhampton's biggest murder inquiries in years was underway after a man died after being shot at a pub. The 26-year-old was shot at the Bagot Arms in Whitmore Reans at 1.45am today. He was rushed to New Cross Hospital, but later died.nextpage

It is thought he took a single bullet to the chest. Today the pub in Newhampton Road West was sealed off and scenes of crimes officers were combing for evidence.

When Steven and Marie Wright managed wanted to speed through the purchase of their new home at the end of last month, they told solicitors to leave a spectacular giant model train set, which had belonged to the previous owner, in the loft.

Wright railMr Wright, a 36-year-old self-employed manufacturer, said: "It belonged to the previous owner of the house who died. He had obviously put so much effort into it that it seemed a real shame to just take a hammer to it. It is really impressive and takes up the whole loft, which I would estimate is around 18ft by 10ft." nextpage

Chiles, McCarthy and ShearerTV presenter and Baggies fan Adrian Chiles and former Newcastle star Alan Shearer on their 335 mile cycle ride from Newcastle to London in aid of Sport Relief. Mick McCarthy joined the pair to pedal from Burton Upon Trent to Muckley Corner for a 19-mile stint, before taking a turn towards Wolverhampton for morning training.
