I watched a comedy show in the grounds of a medieval castle in the West Midlands - and it’s something I would definitely do again next year.

At the end of May I watched a comedy show in the grounds of Warwick Castle and it was such a fun evening.

It is an iconic place to have a comedy show. The setting was beautiful, made even better by the fact that it was still around 20 degrees by 9pm.

Comedy at the Castle takes place every year at Warwick Castle and spans across a weekend from Friday to Sunday.

You can choose the day you want to go to, depending on the comedians, or you could even go to all three days and spend a weekend in Warwick - which I would highly recommend as it is a lovely town.

I watched the comedy show on the Saturday and the comedians who took to the stage were Ed Byrne, Thomas Green, Esther Manito and Russel Kane.

They were all hilarious and everyone was in stitches from start to finish. The show was also hosted by Freddy Quinne, who again, was hilarious.

The comedians interacted with the crowd with some people being picked on for example a couple from Wolverhampton were spotted and picked upon, as well as a man from Birmingham.

The show takes place within the castle grounds, so you are not just having a great laugh throughout the evening but you are also treated to spectacular views of the mighty mediaeval fortress.

It is hosted in Warwick Castle's main courtyard, so the view of the castle is just beautiful.

Not only was it a great night full of laughs and stunning views, but also there was great food options to choose from.

The event is in collaboration with the renowned and popular Digbeth Dining Club which means there are several stalls serving tasty food. There was pizza, steak and chips, curries, and more.

The show had plenty of breaks too meaning there was time to grab extra food, sweets, and alcoholic drinks.

It was the perfect evening and my first time going to a Comedy at the Castle - and it is safe to say that I will definitely be back next year if the weather allows!
