I visit an adorable West Midlands farm that brought joy to families at zero cost
An adorable day-out at a local West Midlands farm.
There’s nothing that feels more like getting back to basics than breathing in the countryside air at a local farm.
Going to a local farm offers numerous benefits, prime among them being that it can calm a busy mind.
I can speak as a Brummie, that there’s nothing more joyful than trading in the city’s concrete streets for piles of hay.

Over the weekend, I visited Lizzie’s Farm, with my younger siblings.
It was a spur of the moment decision, prompted by me scrolling through TikTok and being influenced by a TikTok creator, and seeing that there was a free farm that was nearby.
Coupled with my little brother and sister being obsessed with farmyard animals, whether that’s in the songs that they sing or the books that they are reading.
Growing up in Birmingham, there aren’t many opportunities for them to see a sheep, or a cow or even a rabbit?
The only animals you’ll really see in Birmingham are cats, dogs and birds.
Therefore, it was a treat when we arrived at Lizzie’s Farm in Bromsgrove which was about a 25 minute car journey from home.

As soon as we pulled into the farm we knew we made the right decision.
The smell of countryside air filled the atmosphere, and we were immediately reminded that we weren’t in Birmingham anymore.
The amazing thing about the farm is that it was free to enter and see the array of farmyard animals.
The kids were excited to stroke a sheep and touch the highland cows.
They squealed with delight when they saw rabbits, chickens and even a tortoise outside the barn.

Lizzie Farm also has a charming café and farm shop, where you can enjoy some tea and cake, and on that day eat some ice-cream outside.
While, the farm is free, you are encouraged to get something from the shop where possible.
I for one, was especially pleased to see The Tea Room, where you could enjoy a selection of sandwiches, as well as cake.
There were lots of families enjoying the animals, and visitors were encouraged to get up close to the paddock.
The staff at the farm were extremely welcoming and good at explaining the different animals to small children.
The farm is highly praised on Google Reviews, having 4.8 stars out of 570 reviews.
One Google reviewer highlighted the farm’s welcoming atmosphere. They wrote: “What a wonderful spot! The farm café has such a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
“The beautiful Scottish cows were an absolute delight to see — so calm and majestic — and the donkey and sheeps were incredibly cute and friendly. It’s clear they’re well cared for and loved.”
Lizzie’s Farm is located in Redhill Lane, Bromsgrove B61 0QG.
