Eyesore Wolverhampton city pub FINALLY gets new look and brighter future

Little has been known about the future of a once-loved pub

A former Wolverhampton pub which has sat boarded up and fallen into disrepair over the years is FINALLY set for a brighter future.

After more than 12 years looking run down in its prominent position on Birmingham Road heading into the city, the former Foresters Arms has been given a new look and a rebranding ahead of reopening.

The owners of pizza chain Bunchi have bought the lease on the building and have been transforming the pub into a restaurant and takeaway, ahead of a planned opening in May.

It’s a new dawn for a building which closed its doors in 2012 and has laid dormant for years, with windows boarded up which, in 2019, a fire ripped through the derelict building, spreading to both floors and requiring 20 firefighters to tackle it. Two men had to be led to safety but were not harmed.

Locally listed in 2009, the Foresters Arms is described as a Tudor revival building with a big gable, in red-brown brick with what are probably stone bands painted white.

We have contacted Bunchi to comment on the exciting new plans.
