Welcome to the historic award-winning Wolverhampton school where students strive to learn and teachers 'transform lives as well as minds'
Wolverhampton Grammar School was founded in 1512, quickly becoming an institution of advanced learning and academic excellence.
Youngsters at Wolverhampton Grammar School, on Compton Road, Wolverhampton, not only benefit from a beautiful historic building, but also a strong mindset where teachers look to 'transform lives as well as minds'.
Students and staff alike live by this school's motto, with teachers putting their pupils' happiness and academic development above all else.
Students are not only encouraged to benefit from the school's historic and picturesque setting, but also a wide range of facilities and activities to cater to any ambition.

Featuring more than 25 acres of land and more than 100 extra-carricular clubs, the school benefits from a dance studio, sports centre, high-quality playing field, laboratory, a theatre and a gallery, as well as a range of other buildings to accommodate any passion.
Talking about the school, headteacher at Wolverhampton Grammar School, Nic Anderson, said: "For us, education is not just about academic achievement, it's about making a difference.
"We believe that education is about transforming lives as well as minds. Our expert staff ignite intellectual curiosity - an approach to education that teaches a diverse range of skills for students to play an active role in society and in school."

As one of the oldest schools in the country, the facility has been teaching the next generation of Wolverhampton for more than 500 years, putting a strong emphasis on creating an environment where children can learn and grow among their peers.
The headteacher said: "We deliver a personalised, individual learning experience full of academic and extra-curricular opportunities. We welcome both boys and girls from Reception through to Sixth Form. Our forward-thinking approach to digital technology sees each student from Year 3 onwards with an iPad to support and enhance their learning.
"We are also unique because we work with students to ensure that the curriculum is independently tailored from Year 9. We can do this because of our small class sizes and flexibility within our academic structures. Our highly skilled staff know our students and inspire openness, trust and mutual respect."

The award-winning school places an enormous amount of pride in its Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) rating, where they received 'Excellent' in all areas, and were also ranked in the top Independent Schools in Wolverhampton.
The headteacher said: "For us, our students' happiness is our priority. A full wellbeing programme is in place to ensure students’ mental, emotional, and physical health, ensuring they thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
"We were also recently shortlisted in the Pupil Mental Health Initiative at the TES awards."
Catering to students from reception age (aged four) to Sixth Form (16 to 18), teachers pride themselves on having an adaptive approach to their youngsters' learning journeys, often being with them every step of the way.

The school said: "We are large enough to be able to offer an experience like no other, and yet personal enough to adapt our approach to suit the ambitions and interests of your child.
"We give this experience to boys and girls from reception age through to Year 13 across the Junior and Senior school, and Sixth Form. Our students come from all kinds of backgrounds and cultures."
As well as its personal and academic achievements, the school also strives to be a place of equality, diversity and inclusivity, with staff working alongside Student champions to continuously 'improve the visibility of every member of the school community'.

"Our staff and the student EDI [Equity, Diversity and Inclusion] Champions work together to explore how we can improve the visibility of every member of the school community.
"Black History Month, World Mental Health Day, LGBTQ+ History Month, Ramadan and South Asian Heritage Month are just some of the things we are marking, alongside our own diversity event, 'We Are WGS Week'.
