Watch: Several fire engines race to parkland blaze in West Bromwich - residents urged to keep doors and windows closed
A parkland fire has erupted in West Bromwich.
Several fire engines have raced to a blaze in West Bromwich this afternoon (Friday 3 July).
West Midlands Fire Service says it currently has 10 crews in attendance at a parkland fire between Westminster Road and Gordon Avenue in the Stone Cross area of West Bromwich.
Residents are urged to keep doors and windows closed.

The public is also warned to avoid the area where possible.
Owner of nearby local business Bostin Baps, Craig Fallon, told the Express & Star that it is the “biggest fire” he has seen.
Mr Fallon said: “The fire was and still is active on the milky field and phoenix collegiate.
“Major incident declared. It’s the biggest we have seen.”
He added that the fire has scorched a lot of the greenspace and has spread to the playing fields of The Phoenix Collegiate school in West Brom.
Mr Fallon said: “It’s scorched say 70% of the greenspace and also spread to the school playing fields (Phoenix).”
