Walsall man jailed after repeatedly punching woman throughout two year abuse
The man was was handed a 10-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim
A Brownhills man who repeatedly punched a woman in the face and subjected her to controlling and abusive behaviour has been jailed for more than two-and-a-half years.
Andrew Paul Alcock, 44, of Brownhills, Walsall, was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday, October 21, after pleading guilty to engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour.
The court heard Alcock had punched the victim in the face on multiple occasions, loitered outside her home and demanded access to her phone to check its contents.

After the woman reported the abuse to police, Alcock encouraged her to withdraw her statements and harm herself.
He was subsequently arrested and answered 'no comment' during his police interview, before later admitting the offence in court.
As well as his prison sentence, Alcock was handed a 10-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim and ordered to pay a £228 surcharge.
PC John Grant, the officer in the case, said: "Alcock tormented the victim by continually harassing and controlling her.
"She showed great strength and determination in reporting what she had been through to us, and I hope his sentence provides her with some comfort as she continues to rebuild her life.
"We are committed to helping anyone who has suffered coercive control, violence, and other domestic abuse, to bring those responsible before the courts."
