PICTURE FROM TEH PAST: Barrels galore in this typical shot of Butler’s yard, Wolverhampton, in December 1961 as the beer awaited delivery to pubs and clubs in the area in the run-up to Christmas and New Year. The festive holiday was a vital time for breweries as people celebrated and enjoyed time off.

Thank-you to Peter Rhodes

I must take this opportunity to say thanks to Peter for all his good work over the years. Always found something interesting to report and always hit the nail on the head.

One of the best things in the Express & Star.

Funny and incisive.

What a man!

Sadly missed.
