'Top-class care: Patient pays tribute to ambulance crew and hospital staff' - Your Letters and before it became a country park… do you remember these holiday chalets? In our picture from the archive
Praise for the NHS, lack of support for maintenance of parks, and comparing local council to a less popular version of 'The Traitors' - let's take a look at your views....

My thanks to the wonderful NHS
On November 30, I collapsed at home due to a sudden drop in my blood pressure. My wife, Hazel, contacted emergency GP service who advised that an immediate transfer to hospital was required. She called the ambulance service and 20 minutes later two paramedics arrived and began investigation. After initial examination they transferred me to Russells Hall, all the time monitoring my vital signs. The blood pressure remained very low, and I was treated in the ambulance with saline drips.
At the hospital the ambulance was queued, and the paramedics proceeded to triage my case and kept me informed and monitored until admission.
Upon admission I received a CT scan to ascertain the cause of the low BP. A previous clip from a recent polypectomy had failed and was bleeding into the bowel. That having been established emergency surgery was organised.
I woke up after surgery and was admitted to the high dependency unit.
One on one nursing was arranged and there I remained as the healing began. After several blood transfusions and bed rest recovery I was nursed back to the point where I could return home. I was so fortunate to receive top class treatment from the ambulance service and NHS hospitalisation. I am now at home, battered and bruised, but recovering.

Bring back the partnership
Sandwell Council once promised its nature reserves and parks Friends Groups a genuine partnership: quarterly meetings, published minutes, and an annual programme of works. Those promises have not been kept. The last recorded meetings were in March 2024, and the council has since fallen silent.
Our local volunteers continue to work tirelessly to keep parks safe, clean, and welcoming, but without information or support from the authority that should be leading by example. A partnership without communication is not a partnership at all.
