REUNION OF OLD CLAUGHTONIANS

The Old Claughtonians recently held their 75th anniversary reunions of the class of 1958, since leaving Sir Gilbert Claughton Grammar School, Dudley in 1963 and wonder if any of your readers can beat this record?

The reunion was held at the Dudley Arms, Himley.

After 25 years of dedicated work we managed to trace all 102 classmates from the O-Level classes of 1963. Tracing old schoolmates did not come easy!

We used several ‘detective’ agencies such as the electoral roll, Ancestry, births and marriages and various phone books as well searching through all old school day speech programmes, school reports and old newspaper reports and photos to register and recollect all former classmates names and faces.

We even went around roads and streets where we knew old friends used to live tracing several from family members, friends and neighbours.
