MY DEFENCE OF HERR TUCHEL

Much has been made in the media of Herr Tuchel not attending the last two England games. OK he's fair game for a pot at. He's German and takes over as the new England coach/manager from January 1, 2025.

So let's get a few things straight - here I'm speaking as a British football fan.

1. He may have been asked not to attend and so draw undue attention away from the present incumbent. Who it must be said did a pretty good job even when deserted by some 'stars'.

2. He may have watched the games on TV. After all he may have access to a TV and could get a more balanced picture than at a game.

3. As 1 above, he could have decided that way he may have made that decision.
