Is Blue Lights (BBC) the best cop drama ever?
It's not only the superb casting, matchless scripts, endless tension and sudden deaths that glue you to the screen so much as the throwaway little Irish idioms, as when a gang leader berates a minion: “You've painted yourself into a corner and you're wearing f***ing clown shoes.” Interesting image.
The Prince of Wales says he's not afraid to question tradition to make sure the monarchy remains, in that new, all-purpose phrase, “fit for purpose”. William declares: “Change is on my agenda” when he becomes King, as he wants to “impact people’s lives for the better”.
