Time to hit the brakes on HS2

More on the HS2 high-speed train project, writes Peter Rhodes.

A reader wonders how long it will take this screaming behemoth to reach its maximum 225 mph.

And, given that the distance from Birmingham to London is only 100 miles, when will it have to start braking?

I suspect the answer to both questions may be somewhere near Milton Keynes.
