Nominations are now open for the Mayor’s Civic Awards 2026, which brings people and businesses together for an evening of celebration.

During the evening, which will take place at the Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill on Friday, April 17, the winners of the 23nd annual Mayor Civic Awards will be announced.

There are six categories that people or organisations can be nominated for, which are the Thomas Attwood award for education, the Frank Foley award for community spirit, the Duncan Edwards award for sport, the Cedrick Hardwick award for arts, the William Shenstone award for environment and the Mike Holder award for business.

People have until Sunday, March 22 to nominate individuals and groups who go above and beyond in their communities for the awards, which are this year in association with Jewson Partnership Solutions.

All money raised during the evening will go to councillor Lee’s Mayoral appeal fund in aid of Alzheimer’s Society, Disability in Action Dudley, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Gurkha Welfare Trust and The Leukaemia Unit Appeal Fund who support the Georgina Unit at Russell's Hall Hospital.

Councillor Pete Lee, Mayor of Dudley, said: “The Mayor’s Civic Awards help us to shine a light on the amazing work taking place in the borough and find the silent stars who are going above and beyond.”

“The event is a wonderful opportunity to bring people from our communities and local businesses together and I urge residents to consider their friends, family members and colleagues, and to put forward the remarkable people who make this borough what it is.”

Doors open at 6.45pm followed by dinner at 7.30pm, with tickets available to purchase on the Mayor of Dudley's website.
