Black Country commuters suffered delays this morning and multiple bus services faced diversions due to ice.

Icy conditions saw more than 50 bus services affected across the Midlands – with many accidents also taking place.

West Midlands Police said it had received reports of 86 reports of RTCs across the region between 6am and 10.30am today.

On the buses service 4M was unable to serve the Cradley Heath Interchange, with the Service 5 in West Bromwich unable to serve Pheasey Estate.

In Wolverhampton the Service 6 was unable to serve Ryefield, with buses using Barn Hurst Lane and Droveway instead.

Service 27A, to Longfellow Road and Colarage Drive, and Service 82, to Wrens Nest Estate, were both affected and unable to reach their destinations.

Buses on the Service 82 route used the Birmingham New Road and Priory Road in both directions as an alternative.

The icy conditions also saw multiple accidents taking place across Black Country roads.

A collision in Wolverhampton on the Stourbridge Road partially blocked the road heading out of the city at Lloyd Hill Island.

In Stourton an accident on the Prestwood Road was removed at Bridgnorth Road, and an accident on the M6 southbound blocked one lane on the exit slip road at J14 near Stafford.
