Disruption to rail services between Wolverhampton and Stafford continues after tree fall damages powerlines
Trains operating between Stafford and Wolverhampton are facing cancellations due to damage caused by a fallen tree.
A tree fell on overhead powerlines and collided with a train yesterday (March 25) and disruption is continuing this morning due to lines being blocked.
Train services running between Stafford and Wolverhampton, via Penkridge, are being cancelled. Rail Replacement shuttles are in operation between Wolverhampton, Penkridge and Stafford.

Northbound passengers are advised to travel between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton on West Midlands Railway services where a Rail Replacement Bus will depart every 30 minutes.
Passengers should then change at Stafford for onward travel towards Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.
Southbound passengers should be advised to change at Crewe for services to Stafford where they can take a Rail Replacement Bus to Penkridge and Wolverhampton.
Passengers can also travel with London Northwestern Railways services to Rugeley Trent Valley and Lichfield Trent Valley, where they can change for West Midlands Railway services to Birmingham New Street; or Tamworth where passengers can change for CrossCountry services at no additional cost to Birmingham New Street.
Alternatively, Avanti West Coast have kindly given London Northwestern Railway ticket holders acceptance between Stafford and Liverpool Lime Street, in both directions, until 12:00 today (March 26).
Pessengers can use tickets at no extra cost on Avanti West Coast services between Liverpool Lime Street or Rugby and Stafford, and Rugby to Wolverhampton in both directions until further notice.
Tickets for journeys between Tamworth and Birmingham New Street can also be used on CrossCountry trains at no extra cost until further notice.
