Train timetable for new railway stations at Willenhall and Darlaston revealed - full details here
Railway stations at Willenhall and Darlaston are opening for the first time since 1965 - here’s details on the timetables with the opening dates now set
Transport for West Midlands has announced the opening date for two new Black Country railway stations in Willenhall and Darlaston.
The two stations are due to open on Thursday, March 19, marking the first time that passengers will be able to travel on trains from the platforms since 1965.
Darlaston Station also includes a car park with 300-spaces for park and ride commuters, while Willenhall includes an additional 33 parking spaces.
The much-anticipated opening will be followed by the opening of three more new rail stations on the Camp Hill Line in Birmingham on Tuesday April 7.
The new stations have been welcomed by West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker who said: “Closing those stations during the last century was a short-sighted mistake which has now been put right – no longer will residents have to watch every day as trains rush past without stopping.”
This project has been supported by £126m of funding from Government. Following a review of transport projects in 2024, West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker committed an additional £30m funding to make sure the Camp Hill stations were completed.

Train timetable from Willenhall and Darlaston Stations
Willenhall and Darlaston stations will be added to the timetable for the hourly Shrewsbury to Birmingham New Street Station service via Wolverhampton. The current timetables run until May 16 from Birmingham to Shrewsbury and May 15 for services from Shrewsbury to Birmingham.
As part of the current timetable for Shrewsbury to Birmingham New Street the Willehnall and Darlaston trains run roughly on an hourly basis. There are no services on Sunday.
Previously the timetables for Willenhall and Darlaston were labelled 'bonkers' by Walsall Council deputy leader Adrian Andrew when it emerged that would not, initially, go on to Walsall’s main station in the town centre.
A spokesperson for TfWM said: “The Mayor and WMRE continue to work with partners on securing further regular services for these new stations.”
Mr Parker said he was in dialogue with the Department for Transport (DfT) about the issue.
