Dozens of cars were left in gridlock inside Fold Street car park, which is located between Darlington Street, Fold Street and School Street, as fans attempted to leave Wolverhampton city centre following Wolves 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup on Friday night.

In a video posted by Express & Star deputy sports editor Derek Bish, cars can be seen lined up around the bend in the car park, with no one able to exit the car park due to a barrier being down.

Derek said that the barrier had appeared to be moved by a group of people and traffic able to resume after about a 40 minute delay.

Derek said: "This is gridlock at Fold Street following the Wolves game tonight. Absolutely pathetic. Used to pay on app and drive straight out.

"Just to add to this, when we finally drove out at about 10.50pm, it looks like we only could because someone had snapped the bar off to let everyone out.

"Dread to think what time it would have been had someone not done that."
