M5 crash: 'Major disruption' and emergency services on the scene as collision blocks carriageway near Halesowen

West Midlands Roads has warned of 'major disruption' on the M5 southbound, between Quinton and Rubery, near Halesowen, following a crash that blocked the carriageway.

The incident was first reported by the roads authority at 9.08am on Friday (February 6), with West Midlands Roads warning of delays between Junction 3 (Quinton) and Junction 4 (Rubery).

Emergency services are reported to be on the scene, with the authority saying to 'expect delays' on approach.

A West Midlands Roads spokesperson said: "M5 southbound between Junction 3 and Junction 4.

"Carriageway blocked due to an incident, with emergency services on the scene.

"Expect delays on approach, plan ahead."

National Highways said the southbound route was closed "due to a collision".

A National Highways West Midlands spokesperson said: "The M5 is closed southbound between Junction 3 for Kidderminster and Junction 4, for Bromsgrove, due to a collision.

"Diversion routes in operation."

Emergency services have been approached for further information.
