Metro services into Wolverhampton halted after road collision blocks the tram line
Metro passengers in Wolverhampton had to make alternative travel arrangements this morning after a collision caused services to stop outside the city centre.
West Midlands Metro put out a message to say that services would be operating between Priestfield and Edgbaston Village only due to a traffic collision on the A41 this morning.
The collision meant that no service was in operation for stations into Wolverhampton, with tickets being accepted on the 79 bus service.
The blockage was cleared by 8.11am, but passengers were warned delays to services could still continue.
A spokesman for West Midlands Metro said: "The earlier traffic collision has been cleared. There may be some delays while we reform the service. Thank you for your patience."
West Midlands Ambulance Service have been contacted for a comment.
