M5 crash: Lanes closed after collision between Junctions 3 and 2

Drivers heading north on the M5 have been warned to expect significant delays after two lanes were closed following a collision.

The collision involving a car and a van happened just after 5pm on Sunday (January 11) on the northbound carriageway between Junctions 3 (near Halesowen) and 2 (near Oldbury).

National Highways said traffic officers were working at the scene, but warned of 30-minute delays for motorists.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "Lanes 2 and 3 of three are closed on the M5 northbound between Junction 3 for Quinton and junction 2 for Oldbury due to a collision between a car and a van. 

"Traffic officers are on scene. 

"There are three miles of congestion causing 30-min delays above normal travel time."
