Metro passengers left facing disruption in Wolverhampton after issues with overhead lines

Metro passengers in Wolverhampton were left facing disruption after an issue with overhead wires caused trams to stop outside the city centre.

West Midlands Metro put out a message to inform travellers that due to the issue, there would be no service in operation between Wolverhampton and Priestfield.

Passengers were also informed that tickets and passes could be used on the 79 bus service between Wolverhampton and Priestfield and on West Midlands Railway Services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

A spokesman for West Midlands Metro said: "Due to overhead line issues, there is no service in operation between Wolverhampton & Priestfield. 

"Trams are operating between Priestfield & Edgbaston Village only. 

"Tickets & passes are being accepted on NX West Midlands bus 79 between Wolverhampton & Priestfield and are also being accepted on West Midland Railway services between Wolverhampton & Birmingham.
