Disruption for rail travellers between Walsall and Birmingham as balloon gets caught in overhead wires
Rail users travelling between Walsall and Birmingham were left facing delays after a balloon got caught in overhead wires.
West Midlands Railway warned travellers that services were being delayed and alterations made to services after the incident near the Tame Bridge Parkway at around 12.20pm today (Tuesday).
The rail provider said that while the balloon had been removed and services were back up and running, there would be a residual delay to services and tickets would be available on local bus services.
A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said: "There will be some delays and alterations between Birmingham and Walsall, this is because of a balloon caught in the overhead wires at Tame Bridge Parkway.
"Trains are now on the move, there will be delays and alterations to services while they return to normal.
"Your tickets are valid for use on the local NXWM buses between Birmingham and Walsall."
