Delays for Metro passengers as services unable to run into Wolverhampton

Metro passengers in Wolverhampton were left facing delays and disruption after signalling issues prevented trams coming into the city centre.

West Midlands Metro put out a message at 4.51pm on Thursday to inform passengers that due to the issue at Pipers Row, services would only be operating from Priestfield to Library.

It also said that tickets would be accepted on bus services between Wolverhampton Bus Station and Priestfield.

A spokesman for West Midlands Metro said: "Due to an issue with the signals on Pipers Row, trams are operating between Priestfield & Library only. 

"No service between Wolverhampton Station & Priestfield.

"Tickets are being accepted on NX bus 79 between Wolverhampton & Priestfield."
