60-minute delays as lorry 'stranded' on southbound M6 near Great Barr
Queueing traffic and delays have been reported after a lorry became "stranded" on the M6.
West Midlands Roads warned of major disruption to regular travel after a lorry became stranded on the southbound M6 before Junction 7, near Great Barr.
It was reported at around 8.25am today (Thursday) with queueing reported.
The roads authority has warned motorists to leave extra time for travel, and plan ahead if using the route.
A West Midlands Roads spokesperson said: "M6 southbound, just prior to J7.
"Stranded lorry. Queueing traffic and delays. Allow extra travel time and plan ahead. Major disruption."
National Highways West Midlands reported of delays of around 60 minutes, the authority saying that traffic officers and a mechanic were on the scene to move the lorry.
On X, National Highways said: "There are 60-minute delays on the M6 southbound between Junction 8 and Junction 7.
"This is due to a broken-down lorry in the second lane with its brakes locked on.
"National Highways traffic officers are on the scene with a mechanic who is trying to unlock the brakes."
