Drivers warned as abnormal load makes its way on A34 through Staffordshire

Motorists were being advised to remain patient as a lorry carrying an abnormal load passed through Staffordshire along the A34.

The vehicle has been heading northbound through the Stone area this morning, towards Cheshire.

Staffordshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit posted on X: "Abnormal load now on A34. 

Abnormal load making its way through Stone.

"Please adjust your route if travelling through Stone, Newcastle, Butt Lane and try to be courteous and understanding as the load makes its way to Cheshire." 

Staffs Road Harm Prevention Team also posted: "@StaffsRoadHarm Load has cleared Stafford and is on its way to Stone, where it will go contraflow after Walton Island. Onto Darlaston where it will rejoin correct side for its journey to Newcastle."
