Delays on the M6 near Cannock hours after car fire extinguished
Motorists travelling on the M6 southbound carriageway have been warned to expect delays as the clean-up from a car fire continues.
One lane of the three lane carriageway has remained closed between junction 11 for Shareshill and Cannock and junction 10A for the M54 for emergency resurfacing works following the fire, which started at 9.54am on Monday morning.
National Highways has warned of delays on the approach, with images of the carriageway showing long lines of traffic.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "Lane three will remain closed on the M6 southbound between junction 11 for Shareshill and junction 10A for the M54 for emergency resurfacing works following an earlier car fire.
"There are currently delays of 15 mins on approach."
