Tram services to Wolverhampton halted after car blocks tracks

Tram services to Wolverhampton were temporarily halted due to a vehicle blocking the tracks.

West Midlands Metro posted on social media at 4.08pm reporting that services between Wolverhampton Station and Priestfield were cancelled due to a car blocking the tracks.

A West Midlands resident captured the car that was blocking the tracks at Priestfield.

Trams were only able to operate between Priestfield & Edgbaston Village due to the blockage.

At 5.09pm, West Midlands Metro confirmed that the tracks were no longer blocked and services have resumed.

A post said: "Trams are now able to run all the way through between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village.

"Ticket acceptance on @nxwestmidlands and @WestMidRailway has now been cancelled."
