M6 crash between lorry and car blocks lanes causing one hour delays

A lorry and car have crashed blocking two lanes of the M6 causing traffic jams through the Black Country.

At one stage, all three lanes of the M6 southbound between junction eight for the M5 and junction nine for Wednesbury.

Queues are leading back past junction 10 for Walsall/Wolverhampton towards J10a for the M54.

The crash happened shortly before 7.30am.

The car and lorry can be seen blocking two of the central lanes with traffic able to pass in the smart motorway hard shoulder and third lane.

Highways England tweeted to say three lanes had opened by around 7.55am. But they were still working to fully remove the wreckage from the carriageway.
