Work started in December to the A41 Expressway in West Bromwich and was due to initially last just eight days. Drivers were then warned to expect delays into the new year. It was reopened today.
An inspection of the £25 million underpass revealed defects in the road surface.
Balfour Beatty have completed and picked up the bill for the necessary repairs, as they had worked with Sandwell Council on the original project.
