Two weeks of disruption for main road in Cannock
Motorists were today warned of major disruption along a main road in Cannock because of £130,000, two-week roadworks.
Resurfacing the roundabout at Voyager Drive on the A460 Eastern Way will begin on Friday.
The junction is the gateway to the busy Orbital retail park, including Sainsbury's, Argos, Harvey's, KFC, Carpetright and Homebase.
Although the work will be confined to the hours between 9am and 3pm each day, lane closures will be in place around the clock.
The resurfacing will also result in the closure of the access road to the retail park from the traffic island.
A diversion via Orbital Way will be set up and temporary traffic lights in operation. Every junction off the roundabout will need to be closed for part of the time.
County councillor Pat Corfield said: "Motorists will notice a real difference in their journeys once the work is complete."
