It’s the latest local Marston’s pub to be relaunched under the Grandstand sports concept
The Foley Arms in Sutton Coldfield has reopened as a Grandstand sports pub after a £270,000 investment.
The venue is the latest Marston’s pub to reopen under the new sports concept, featuring new big screen technology that customers can watch all the big games on.

The refurbishment has also included the installation of a state-of-the-art sound system and flexible tiered seating to guarantee a good view of the action.

The beer garden has also been refurbished, with new TV screens added, and locals will be able to order through the Marston’s ‘Order & Pay’ app so they don’t miss a minute of the action.

The Foley Arms has also been decorated with local sports memorabilia and the team are now appealing for photographs and merchandise relating to local sports stars and teams, past and present.
To mark the official opening of the revamped pub, Councillor Alan Fleming, Mayor of Walsall, pulled the first pint - having been invited along as a community hero as he grew up in Streetly and has long-standing ties to the area.

The pub in Foley Road West, Sutton Coldfield, will show all key sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, horse racing and more.
It also boasts regulation dart boards and pool tables to provide entertainment after the final whistle goes, with new competition leagues and ‘free to play’ recreational sessions set to take place throughout the week.

The pub’s new menu includes light bites such as chicken wings and nachos, and pub favourites such as fish and chips, grills and burgers. The Foley Arms has also refreshed its drink range, with all draught beer available in 2-pint cups.

There will also be a chance for local sports teams to get their hands on a ‘Black Card’ and secure bottomless fries when they visit for team drinks, plus more rewards if they win their game.
The new Grandstand concept was introduced by Wolverhampton-headquartered pub company Marston’s after industry research revealed 8.5 million consumers have watched sports games at the pub, and 86 per cent of sports fans say they watch games at sports pubs due to a livelier atmosphere, better screens and sound, and to be able to connect with friends and family.

Marston’s operations manager Shaun Hayes said: “We’re so excited to show off the new and improved pub.
“With a calendar of sports up ahead, The Foley Arms will be the perfect destination to get involved in a big event atmosphere and soak up the action, especially thanks to some amazing new technology, food and drink offers and events.”
