Stourbridge playground gets £33,000 upgrade with disability friendly equipment
Stourbridge playground upgraded with specialised equipment for disabled children
A play area in Greenfield Gardens, Stourbridge has had a £33,000 upgrade with new and more inclusive play equipment.
The park, near Greenfield Primary School and the new, modern play equipment has been specifically selected to enable children with disabilities to enjoy the play facilities along with their contemporaries in a creative, safe environment.

The £33,000 upgrade project was led by Dudley Metropolitan Council and was made possible following a grant from Enovert Community Trust for £32,936, provided through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF).
The rest of the funding came from John Porter Community Fund, Geoff Hill Community Fund, Stourbridge Rotary, and the local community.
Jim Deakin, Director for Neighbourhoods, Dudley Metropolitan Council, said: “This is a very popular park and the new equipment will enable more children to enjoy the play equipment, which is great news for the local community.”
Greenfield Gardens is fully accessible to the public 24/7 and has an active friends’ group which organises many events at the park throughout the year, including Christmas carols, an Easter egg hunt and a summer party.

Angela Haymonds, Trust Manager of Enovert Community Trust, said: “Accessible green spaces are so important for local communities, and especially children, so the Trustees were delighted to award a grant to this project to provide new play equipment and specifically items that everyone can enjoy.
We hope the children of Stourbridge get many years of enjoyment from it.”
Enovert Community Trust is an Environmental Trust set up in 2003 under the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), an innovative tax credit scheme enabling Landfill Operators (LOs) to contribute money to organisations enrolled with Entrust as Environmental Bodies (EBs)
