City centre streets and church gardens are to undergo a multi-million pound makeover to revitalise the heart of Wolverhampton.
Following the success of Dudley Street and Queen Street's repaving and new street furniture, council chiefs now plan to clean up the rest of the city centre.
North Street near the Civic Hall is to be repaved in a £100,000 project as is Lichfield Passage and Wheelers Fold, which will be upgraded with work totalling £110,000.
Waterloo Road and Darlington Street will be spruced up in a £425,000 scheme which will also include road safety measures following seven accidents in the last five years.
St Peter's Gardens at Lich Gates will have its walkways repaired and lawns and flowerbeds replanted.
Heritage Lottery funding is being sought to help fund the improvements.
The work has been commissioned by the council, which is hoping to "enhance the image and perception of the city centre."
The makeover of Queen Square includes updated street lighting. The latest phase of work will be discussed by the council's cabinet resources panel on Tuesday.
